SOUTH BEACH: Looking Forward to the Future

During the past decade we've witnessed the rise of San Francisco's most
innovative and dynamic neighborhood, South Beach. Evolving from a chaos of
parking lots, body shops and night clubs, South Beach is now the address to
fast-forward restaurants, shops and, best of all, people. But what's most
thrilling about South Beach isn't its past, or even its present, but its
future.
The heartbeat of South Beach begins with AT&T Park. Since the opening
day, April 11th, 2000, the new home of the San Francisco Giants has led to the dramatic
transformation of South Beach. With the legions of die-hard baseball fans
came an advent of bars and restaurants. Momo's, Pete's Tavern, and Paragon are
great places to eat and drink. District and South are both upscale wine bars.
Since moving to the South Beach area over 4 years ago, I've seen a
proliferation of both chain and local restaurants. Waterbar, Epic Roasthouse,
Amici's Pizza, Starbucks, Crossroads Cafe, Delancey Street Restaurant, and
Town's End are all excellent choices.
